Keystone XL pipeline not safe
Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 12:00AM
Mike Klink, a former inspector for one of the major contractors working on TransCanada’s original Keystone pipeline, has published an op-ed criticizing Keystone XL, the new pipeline that would bring crude from Alberta's Tar Sands down to refineries in the Gulf Coast.

There are currently 95,000 miles of pipelines in the united states. There are 18 major pipelines being constructed as we speak. The property i hunt and fish has a pipeline through it. The picture looks like a bunch of useful idiots to me.
I'm somewhat surprised at all the opposition to the Keystone pipeline from the U.S.
I would have thought the country would jump at the opportunity to wean themselves off middle east oil. It seems crazy that a lot of people down south are happy to send their money offshore to support a group(s) of people who turn around and use it to against them. Every time you fill your tank with Arab oil you are supporting terrorism. Period.
Did you 2 guys even read the article? It's not about energy independence or stopping all pipelines- it's about this being a risky and flawed project. He also states "There is no guarantee the product will stay in the United States, only the toxic waste."
So in the guise of "energy independence," every American has to support all gas and oil pipeline projects? We shouldn't ask questions or be cautious? The two of you sound like a mixture of Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry - sounding off the typical industry talking points while dismissing any slight criticism or concern.
