This is a very nice fish, but I'm shocked that this "very nice fish" received more votes than some of the other actual slabs. That march OP steelhead was a true fish of a lifetime and that permit was ridiculous.
Agree with the above comment, both those fish you mentioned have this one beat. That permit was just stupid huge
Girls often get the votes cause most of our flock is a bunch of pathetic single dudes.
People catch steelhead that big every single day and the other steelhead was bigger. Disappointed that some of the truly unique specimens took second to this unremarkable fish.

Back half of the year was way stronger. Both MT Browns are just ridiculous.
Huge Permit, Legit 25 Pound OP Steelhead, and yet we get a slightly above average SE AK Steelhead that is a nice fish, but no slab of the year! People submitted bigger non-anadromous bull trout!
Must be the influx of single guys dreaming of hot chicks holding the most recently whored out fish in the fly fishing community, the steelhead.
I would hope that Moldy Chum would understand the plight of wild steelhead and would discourage pictures in the future of wild steelhead out of the water and getting squeezed to death.

A stellar fish in a stellar setting. Most of the bucks on here have never even attempted fly casting in sub zero conditions. Congrats.

I think some of these haters are really upset at this.. WTF.. just don't kick the dog.. Go fishing and screw who was awared slab of the year...
I also voted for the Permit, but I wasn't aware that this wasn't a spectacular fish. This would've been my vote if the Permit wasn't in the contest.
Sounds like some serious jealousy on here; I know I'm jealous.
