Ever wonder what a lake filled with volcanic ash would look like?

Chile's Puyehue volcano recently erupted for the first time in 50 years and spewed enough ash to make Nahuel Huapi Lake in Argentina an unrecognizable, soot-covered abyss.

It's a hell of a thing; and underneath all that ash right now are an awful lot of big, beautiful brown trout trying to survive. I guess we'll see what's happened to them in the spring, but its pretty hard to imagine there won't be some damage.
