Haha. I give respect for landing a good size fish with that technique, but do not see the point of it. When a fish peels line its one of the best feelings in the world, and running around like a spaz splashing all over the place to make sure the fish doesnt pop seems a bit excessive. Entertaining though!

Stupid Frenchies. Use a reel and leave that Tenkara stuff to the small streams and the Japanese.

What is tenkara?

May 25, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterCD

Tenkara is a traditional Japanese method of fly fishing. The typical set-up is a 11-13 foot rod with a 12-14 foot leader system. No reel. This set-up is perfect for small streams. The enjoyment comes from the simplicity.
