But browns are non-native, invasive species! Shouldn't he immediately kill this one instead of putting it back to overrun the habitat of native cutthroat?

Yes! cllub it with a rock.. Look what the browns have done to silver creek ? There use to be 18" rainbows rising to dries as the norm. Can't see that now and it's because of the brown trout. The guilds ike the browns because it make s for a nice photo for clients.

beautiful fish though.. i was kidding about the rock by the way.. needs to be a balance.

I believe this fish is dead. Eyes do not appear to be pointed down. Regardless, truly a very nice fish!!

The browns seem to get along with other trouts, unlike the interbreeding rainbow fucks. Oh ya, hell of a brown by the way. Probably getting my vote. Where you at? Better than anything I've caught this year.

I lived in Bozeman for a few years and caught browns like that all the time during certain parts of the year. I was using spey gear too. Oh and this was like 15 years ago. People used to think I was nuts but the big fly catches the big brown. No doubt about that.

If you get jealous about a fish like that you need to cool your jets. There are plenty of them out there. If you continue fishing, with experience, you will catch great fish.

All the young dudes need to chullllll ooot and just keep having fun fishing. Your mastery of the sport will come with time and you will not be famous for it even when you enter your pics in some dumb online contest.

please leave the name off the board, part of the fun is exploring and going through the troubles of knowing and spending time like that...to find a place that holds browns that are rewarding to catch

PNW Miner, get real my man. That is a great fish and a fish like that is a trophy to anyone, especially when fishing a mountain lake that isn't known for large fish. That fish is an outlier in itself and I'm sure all of us Moldy Chum followers would love to see some of your mythical MT giants on here some day but until then, give credit where credit is due and don't be that guy. Great fish Mr. Lowenstein!
