New book explores Florida fishing legends

Florida's Fishing Legends and Pioneers is a new book that's drawing praise as a compendium of colorful characters who contributed to Florida's 100-year-plus recreational fishing boom. Rather than a tedious compilation of bios and stats, the book provides entertaining stories and interviews about the eclectic personalities.

A limited number of books signed by many of the living legends depicted in the book will be available at auction.

I'd recommend this book. Very interesting and every chapter has historical pictures about the legends and pioneers in Florida's fishing history. Most fishing books are sorta boring, but this one is excellent.

That's my dad on the cover, second from the right, Ed Louys of Salt Water Sportsman magazine. Bill Curtis on the far left, Stu Apte on the far right, and I believe the guy with my dad's hand on his shoulder is Jerry Kirk. These guys were like my uncles, and at one time or another we fished every place in Florida with more than an inch of water on it. WOW! Thanks for posting this link. GOTTA get that book!
