Take 2.

This couldn't possibly be a Maryland based trout film, could it? The Savage is more photogenic, the fish are wild, and there's more fisherfolk to boot.

I found these videos on youtube a few months ago. Great work boys....

nice vid. I fish this river a lot in the spring - it gets really hot in the summer, hence the delayed harvest regs. you guys might be interested to know that, if you're so inclined, you can catch a lot of trout on that river using nothing but garishly colored west coast style steelhead streamers.

yrs-

Great shots. But, I could do without the cheeseball life path crap and see some catching of non-stocker trout of size. Glad they caught that stocker on a caddis poopa and not on that mega pink worm of death.

Great camera work, cool shots, editing AND effects, seriously you have all the tools to make some really beautiful films. And I don't know jack about cameras but it looks like you have some nice high dollar stuff. BUT please save the commentary. The melodramatic saga of taking photos and fly-fishing is only surpassed, in it's dripping like ball-game nachos cheesiness, by the likes of Robert Redford douchelording all over Norman Maclean's book. And I would know- I have to live with the fallout in Missoula where everyone comes to learn to fly-fish and think it's mystical or some shit.
Troutmen- good work on the nymphs- I heard and saw that caddis nymph loud and clear. I wasn't saying there's only one way to fish (aka dries or streamers, etc.) just that there is a classy way and the other way...

Strike indicators are pretty cool....

Whoever said there were wild fish in the Savage is lying. Just bears and rattlesnakes around those parts.

Been a fly fisherman for only a few years now...but have quickly seen the entitlement and privileged attitude of many as exhibited in the above comments. Great work Troutmen - keep it up.

Five minutes and maybe 20 combined inches of fish under a gay indicator, waste of time!

Would like to see the boys handle the fish with a little more care even if they might be stockers.....

I will say these guys do a very good job on their videos. That being said the freshwater fly fishing in MD is somewhat "limited." 5" browns on the Gun, Alien fish on the North Branch, and stocked fish most everywhere else. I would like to see these guys take a trip to MT/BC. Fish the Madison/Big Hole/Beav/Big Horn/or some of the great places in BC. Film making skills are a 10 and I want to see more. Need to take a trip to get some better water other than what MD has to offer and being a resident in MD the trout fishing isn't much to get excited about. For that matter cruise up to Erie or Buffalo or the Salmon River (all within 5 hours) and put the excellent camera skills to work with some non-alien fish!
