2010 Slab of the Year Results

If you haven't guessed by now - we were in a bit of a quandary on this one.  Odd behavior hit this year’s voting poll from the get go.  That said, the good news is that no one rigged IP addresses, or did any hacking of any kind.  The bottom line this year was competition.  And when competition was introduced the Chum Nation, guess what happened?  People competed.  They lobbied.  They shared.  And, they worked their communities.  It wasn't specific to maritimers, swingers, nymphers - everyone was in on this one.  And in the end, it is what it is.

So, without further ado - congratulations to all.  Here's the final results:

1st Place: Dec Atlantic

2nd Place: Jan Brown

3rd Place: Mar Steel

next time I get a slab on this website I'll be sure to tell a bunch of people to vote for me (most of whom wont even be fly fishermen) to take over the poles and WIN!!! YEEE what a concept... Congratulations Matt

Boohoo so he spread the word about his fish, and a nice fish it was.

I have seen first hand someone do the same thing for SOTM and it worked. You can't honestly say that when or if you are up for SOTM or SOTY you aren't telling your fishing buddies or people you know to vote for you.

It was a well deserved win, give it a rest!

Lobbying or not, it seems MoldyChum has definately gained some new followers in that area. Getting input, content and contributions from a greater variety of places can only be a good thing to improve the content of the website. I will admit the talk about the superioroity of Atlantic Salmon over all other gamefish ever was a bit much at times, but overall I say welcome to the party to all the new followers.

Congratulations Atlantic on having the best organization and promotion skills. Congrats to the Bow and the Steel for having the best slab.

I'm not from Cananada, but I'm glad a wild anadromous fish took it, and not that "hold it out as far as you can" brown that is a nice fish, but not that big, or that colored up shallow water steelhead, or any of the other stockers or sun dried bulltrout that seemed to be the rage this year.

not what I expected.... I think a panel of judges should do the voting.

stockers or sun dried bulltrout? sun dried? What the hell is sun dried- bg you just said pretty much you hate steelhead, browns bull trouts. And to top it off got to use the word "anadromous" to make your self feel smart. The salmon is nice-but wack ass photo. Weak night shot. Weak slab. Weak year. Weak comments. Weak sauce bra
