Watch the Condit Dam Breach Live - Scheduled for Noon Today
Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 12:04AM
More explosive dam breaching fun!
To satisfy the public’s desire to watch the blast, PacifiCorp has set up a live webcast of the breach and will be announcing the URL on their website today at 11am.
White Salmon Restored will also be extensively covering the breach with the following.
- Two long-term time-lapse camera stations (equipped with Canon T2is) will be shooting one JPG frame every 3 seconds all day
- A second still camera (Canon 1D Mark 4) will be shooting 1 RAW frame per second for 45 minutes starting 5 minutes before the blast
- Two video cameras–a Sony FS100 and a Sony EX1–will each be shooting HD video for about 8 hours starting at 10am
- Steve and I will both be mobile with Canon 5Ds

The narrows will be restored this should be interesting to find out how this affects the farmers above this dam. There has been a lot a work here behind the scenes. I also wonder if this will help the Yakima tribe. The upper reaches of this river are some of the most beautiful places I have ever been to .
So sweet! I'll have to have this thing running in the background during a meeting. Look forward to seeing the fireworks. While I appreciate all the camera work (and especially the 5Ds) what they really need is a B-17 or two.
That was cool as hell to watch, thanks for the heads up!
Unbelievable how fast the reservior cleared out. Some serious timbers running downstream as of 1pm. Hope it improves the habitat - and the fishing!!
Anyone else noticing the old logs from who-knows-how-long ago floating down stream? If I lived nearby I would be down stream trying to pull some of those out. Many of those have likely been under water for quite some time and will sell for quite a sum.
damn, the live stream was crazy
Watching this made me have a better day..Thanks
