More Pebble Propaganda - Take Action - Post a Comment
Friday, January 14, 2011 at 12:04AM
Sam Snyder posted these two You Tube videos put out by the Pebble Partnership that are beyond deceptive. Sam does a much better job than I could deconstructing the bullshit, but what I can suggest is that the Pebble Partnership deserves whatever wrath can be brought down upon them in the You Tube comments. ever heard of the chesapeake? its called a watershed you sellout! if you want to take a crap in the middle of your own house, go ahead. the rest of us would like to save bristol bay!
What does the distance from Pebble to Bristol Bay have to do with anything? A counter ad should be done making the same journey using a water route. All the toxins they'll be using won't be hiking over land!
So that means their going to destroy all that land too? "Look, here somebody that got paid money to read a script. " Pebble can eat out an assh*le. The sad thing is that we here are all reading a fishing blog, with our computers, free WIFI access, and $1000 fly rigs, while the people most directly surrounded by this project don't have those ammenities. Worst of all the decisions are being made by people who won't have to deal with the project first hand, rather sit behind their desk and collect a check so their daughter can drive BMW to high school everyday. But in all fairness I really wonder how much damage the commercial fishing industry did to the wild stock of salmon too. We crown these "fishermen" who set nets, so we can have a sushi dinner on Friday night. They are part of the problem too. The salmon "fishermen" of the NW are the ones who are catching all the Steelies in their nets. It's one big fuc*king mess!
Last I checked shit runs downstream.......
I'm a Fly Fisher with a Geology background. This mess simply cannot happen, marketing like this is nothing short of the same propaganda we've been experiencing in America for the past 4 years. See the mess were in. This is the same mess Bristol bay will be in when water molecules mix with the sulfides from the mine and produce sulfuric acid. Water flows and shit happens. If this gal is truly from Iliamna then she must be getting one hell of a pension from the folks at pebble. Find another pit somewhere else this area is just to precious to say, "WTF happened." Disaster is literally one earthquake or flood season away from ruining Bristol bay for good should the mine go in. Pull your heads out Pebble! The people who matter have spoken on this issue
This is some real prop a ganda. Go on Sam's site, www.headwatersofhistory.ccom and see his breakdown of the bs this commercial is
I posted another one on my blog that says the Fraiser River Sockeye and the open pit pebble mines work great together, ehhhhhhhhhhh?
Done and Done
Thanks for getting the word out there! These ads insult everyone's intelligence...
greed is not good in this case
Who cares how long it takes to walk there? I care about how many fish and wildlife are killed along the way.
TROUT SNIPER
John Exactly....Funny -- but when I drive outside Somerset, PA I am hundreds of miles away from the Chesapeake Bay. We don't have a pebble mine and you still know what our watershed has done to that Bay! Say no to the pebble mine! It would have been funny is she would have really hiked that --- chances are she would be Timothy Treadwell part deux!
Saddens me that its even being considered. Save the Bay.
Very underhanded advertising....meant to confuse the viewer....in a contorted greenwashing way...
Very F!!!****%%%ed up...
What a pathetic attempt at propaganda! This is completely insulting, even the dumbest people in north america won't buy this because they even understand gravity...SHIT FLOWS DOWNHILL!!!!! Nice shot of the " Mine worksite" the real deal is a thousand times bigger. That might have been a nice cozy shot of their test site 5 years ago!
