June Slab of the Month Entry: Colorado Pike

Taylor Creek Fly Shop's Teddy Sessions stuck this Pike last week on a New Castle, CO reservoir. Rumor has it the state record is just shy of 31 lbs. This one is bigger. It's back in the drink and still kickin' in the event anyone wants to personally introduce themselves.

Yes, very nice pike...good thing they didn't submit the picture of the vertical gill hold. Just for future reference, a vertical gill hold of a 30 pound pike or musky could result in permanent damage. It's become a major no-no within the musky fishing community.
