I guess I am just not easily impressed and spend too much time on the OR coast, Sorry for having an opinion that does not match the majority. I guess the majority will never see a fish like that and it is pretty BIG, but not that big, man! Extended arms, little guy, doubt it makes 20lbs, come on, really!

Catching the steelhead is very much like making love to the beutiful women, as they can both be shy to the advance. As a man, you must be persistant. Somedays you go home with only the empty hand. But other days, when you are lucky, you will find success. On those days you will experience the most exhilerating 30-40 minutes of your life, testing your physical endurance as well as the quality of your gear, and there will be with much jumping and loud shouts of joy (that will often wake anyone sleeping nearby). In the end, you will both be exhausted.
When done, you will likely want to take a nap, and she will want to lay quietly in your hands. At this time, you will often be tempted to take a picture to show your friends... and sometimes you even put them on the computer. To you, I say bravo.

thanks guys! that fish was a tank. no idea of its weight, dont really care. fat. great to see these genetics are still alive and well, just the thought of holding and releasing this fish gives me goosebumps. it was released quickly.

Thanks to all the rants that have gotten chromeseeker to STFU... at least for awhile. There isn't a large enough set of waders to fit such a big ass.
Wow, sure is easy to ruffle a few feathers. I hope Mr. Chou can delvelop a thicker skin if he continues to paste his face on the internet especially with steelhead in full spawning colors. The point of the jabs were to get some attention plain and simple. I do admit it can be impossible to avoid catching such a fish at times, but surely hope this buck was not sight fished in a shallow tailout. Hopefully no one will see a fish like this and actually target it. These larger bucks can spawn with multiple females and go through incredible rigors while defending territory, impressing as many willing ladies as they can. They need all the energy they can have to hold off mutant hatchery bucks and other "little guys". If they can, many offspring will have a chance to come back and we all get to see more great fish. It is obvious this fish is close to spawning and does not need to be part of one's hero shot for slab of the month! I did get lots of great opinions of myself and appreciate the assumptions, quite entertaining. Please continue to educate yourself and I will too. Protect Wild Steelhead, Don't Exploit them. See ya!
