R.I.P. Dave Niehaus.  Job well done.  Calls like this, that, and thensome convinced us in Seattle that baseball was more than just a void between the Sonics, Seahawks and Steelhead seasons.

I used to listen to Dave while fishing - to keep in touch with the Mariners while getting in a few casts on a weekend. There is no one that can replace the man and his talent to enable to listener to feel like you are at the game while doing something else. While I might have been casting a line, I was also at the game. Someone once said that you can't be at two places at the same time... and I have to argue with that statement. With Dave, you could be watching the Mariners anywhere in the world while physically doing something else.
