4 to 5 grand for a fly reel. Give me a break. I'm a teacher for crying out loud. It makes an Abel look like a steal. Crazy. And people question why fly fishing has a reputation as a snob sport.

When you want one of the very best bench made reels by a Master Reel smith it cost more then a production line reel. Kind of like comparing a Ferrari to Ford they both get you there but with different types of experiences. I DON'T THINK YOU NEED TO BE A SNOB TO LIKE NICE THINGS BUT EVIDENTLY YOU DO TO DERIDE EXCELLENCE.
