October Slab of the Month - Pacu
![Date Date](/universal/images/transparent.png)
Our friend Dave McCoy hoists one of the most unusual entires we've seen in the history of S.O.M. Dave landed this Pacu on a recent trip to Bolivia where he also chased the more traditional angling targets.
Pacu, along with their piranha cousins are a characin fish, meaning a kind of tetra.

This is great! Got my vote... I want to travel there to get into some Golden Dorado
How do those fight? Looks like a giant sunfish sort of. Betcha that one guy who loves to fish for panfish is majorly jealous. Cool fish pic
Delicious to eat by the way. Not as good as some jaraqui frito, but good.
And that is a slab of a Pacu
That's gnarly. I wonder what it ate. Streamer of some sort, i'm guessing. Same fish that you can buy in the pet store. Most people buy them without knowing they get so big.
Pound for pound the Pacu is perhaps the hardest fighting fish in the world. If you net one that has'nt been tired out it will drag you around all over the place!
