Sept Slab of the Month Entry: European Carp
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 12:02AM
Our words couldn't possibly do this justice, so I'm just gonna copy and paste the email we received:
Hello, this big carp did I catch on the fly in shallow water in the Netherlands. The fly was a salmon egg imitation. The fish was very strong on my 7 wt TFO rod.

That fish is a pig. Congratulations to our Euro-brother.
And this is a great example of a conservation-minded photograph. Note that the fish is still dripping water. If you do ever have to lift a fish out of the water for that trophy shot, keep this particular image in mind.
gross...covered in carp slime...id be running for a shower after that

The playing field has been changed.
That's a big-ass fish.
Wow.
My Netherlands-born husband (Schiedam,1952) is jealous! Good job!
must have put up a great tug!
It's a carp.. it doesn't have to be dripping. Keep those ugly things out of water for 10 minutes and it doesn't even phase them. They eat rat poison and batteries without it affecting them, they don't need to breathe...
Wow
Hey FISHDOC......get a freakin life. Oh no he's got that big, nasty carp 36 inches out of the water. But wait it's still dripping. It's okay then.

Are carp afraid of heights?
