I caught him on a silver Bullly's blue gill spider. He is still happily cruising the pond.
Awesome catch but it isn't a pure bluegill, appears to be a hybrid with a bluegill involved. Note the red margin on the gill flap, bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) don't have that. Perhaps it is a bluegill/redear cross.
A redear or a hybrid, but a whopper. It takes weeding through an awful lot of 6" - 8" fish to find a 9" - 10" fish, and I bet that bull right there goes 12. Got my vote!
