June Slab of the Month Results
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 12:18AM
Thanks for the 706 votes Chum Nation - nice community contribution for sure! June was a tough one. As such, we're making an executive decision to announce Co-Winners.
Sammy Hignell-Stark (the people's choice) and Alex Lovett-Woodsum (the choice where pure slabbage simply cannot be ignored) should be proud. Many a entry was worthy and these ladies kicked a very solid amount of buttocks.
Stay tuned for July voting. We've got another slab infested situation brewing.

Glad they both won but Alex's fish deserved it alone. You gotta know tarpon to know that is a once in a lifetime trophy fish...
Right on, I agree with that!
Woo Hoo! High five Alex!! :) You did an awesome job and I think this was a close competition between you and me, and Mikes Rainbow Trout. But yaa, it was really nice being in this, it it feels AWESOME to have won! Have a good year!! I'll see you for the Slab Of The Year contest.
I kinda voted twice. Is that ok?
A-lex!, A-lex!, A-lex!
As the Mother of the co-winner, Sammy, I can attest to the fact that my daughter was more excited about this contest than my recently taking her to Great America. She has been glowing since her picture made its way to the June vote.
That being said, she is genuinely sweet (as her smile shows in the pictures), and her above post congratulating Alex is proof that she is all about the fish, not the glory.
We both appreciate everyone taking the time to vote, and while I know many people outside of our immediate family were not in Sammy's corner, we thank everyone for voting, regardless of who you voted for. This was a fun contest for all.
PS-Alex, your tarpon truly is trophy worth; you should be very proud. Congratulations to all participants!
and the ladies clean up! Congrats Sammy, if you're ever in New England let's go fishing!
both awesome fish, congrats ladies
Ha, sounds good! :D And if you're ever in Oregon, holler! and we'll go fishing too. :)
Very nice ladies.
