Who cares, most private estancia's are exemt anyways. They don't enforce the laws with the outfitters. Tandem fly rigs are illegal too, but I have watch guides rig their clients rod with them.
So whats your point... Bottom line there is a double standard down there.

Nice Fish by the way....

As massive as that brown is, he probably hooked it up while it was still daylight and it took him until dark to land it. Great fish.

Argentinos are a unique group indeed... Ask any and he'll tell you the fish do all their feeding at night, especially with some moon light to help them see prey. You ll find free fishing calenders in almost every tackle shop in Patagonia generally showing the quality of fishing in direct relation to moon phase. Poor quality fishing is always pegged to waxing or full moon. The idea being that with waxing or full moon, the fish do all their feeding at night because the can see better with moon light and the night offers more security. Consequently, they are not hungary or not feeding in the day. Hence poor fishing with strong lunar cycle. Strong fishing with weak lunar cycle. Anyway, thought id share this theory though its not directly related to above postings. Interesting cultural difference nonetheless. Could possibly have some legitimacy as well, though sounds a bid absurd. Never hurts to take in other perspectives. Us flyfisherman can be awfully stubborn and certain with our theory on a pursuit that is ultimately random and haphazard. Beautiful fish. Chubut??? looks like a sea run.

It certainly could be from Chubut. Sea trout and lake-run brown trout actually look incredibly similar, the only discernible difference being that sea trout won't have red spots, and non-anadromous browns typically do. Too hard to tell from that photo what the case is. Either way, nice fish!

This fish was caught in Chubut, was not sea-run, and was both hooked and landed within legal fishing hours, just after dawn.
