Lots of boats and no fish, the teaser looks like the start of some bass fishing tournament. Their editing implies that they like to tear through Manatee zones, which is really not cool.

Agree. It might be cool, but I'm not gonna buy it if the trailer is how fast can your skiff go in an idle only zone. Sheesh. Show me some damn fishin. I've got a boat, I've driven boats. Your fancy dancy crossing the wake trying to be badass shit doesn't fly here.
We're loving the feedback! It's good to know what people want to see, and that nothing has changed.
This teaser is not the trailer, nor is it much of anything more than some clips thrown together about a boat ride, that was probably the most fun boat ride of my life, even though we barely were able to top 20mph with all our gear. Oh yeah, my boat has a 15hp motor. I like the bass tournament reference the best.

Sorry for the lack of fish, for real, but that was not the intent of this rough cut. We have been shooting this thing for over 2 years, and promise no lack of fishing footage in the final edit.
Now we aren't promising the best fly fishing movie of all time, but what we are promising is a homegrown piece about fly fishing in the Everglades. And as far as Loop goes, they are on board as of last month, and we are super stoked that they might help us take it to a level higher than we were able to take it on our previous budget of $0.00.
I've got 4 months of editing to try to finish in the next 3 weeks, and can honestly say that I have never worked so hard, for nothing, in my life. But I'm excited to get this thing finished because worst case scenario, we'll have a home movie about one of the coolest weeks of our lives, to share amongst our group of friends for as long as we are around.

Well said Dave... Keep on track and don't turn into a Douche. If Loop is on board beware. I really enjoyed the early days of AEG, but when all the sponsors took over they started to blow in a hurry.
So keep it homegrown as said, keep the grassroots mentality and you should do fine.

The skinny water gear made the cut, but not cause someone paid us. As far as Loop goes, there is no pressure to ever "sell" a dvd or make a big deal out of anything. We have an agreement that, shall we say, will compliment eachother's products as well as making them better, or we hope...he he
Nobody loves fly fishing more than us, and for years we have watched our every move to try our best to bring some energy and not be ghey. A while back I threw away my business, pawned a bunch of crap to buy a few shitty cameras, and settled into a lifestyle that sometimes meant living in a garbage can and eating worms. I gave it up for one thing...to try to make some flyfishing movies with me and my friends. Not to make a bunch of money but to document what has been the most fun time in my life. I also wanted to learn a trade, media production.
As I get better at putting things together, We hope to do some projects outside of the fly fishing realms that I agree will be very ghey, but they will pay the bills, but as far as the fly fishing media that we put out there, we promise to always bring the rawest shit we can, and never try intentionally to release any trash. Even if it means eating worms for the next couple years.

Voice I ain't on my knees brotha... They do put some sick shit together. And after they explained the what was thought to be a lame video submission, I had t give them credit. Now if they stood by that as a submission, I would have stuck to my original observations.
Now call it what you want, but the guys are living the life. So it may be shop/guide talk etc... I personally hate that shit too, but I don't think this is the case here.
Dave ... I can't leave ya out here to get your a** kicked ALONE all over "chum nation" ... So, I'll jump in (and might get an a** kicking too, but whatever.) .... Anyway, I'd like to say that the film in question wouldn't even exist if I hadn't kept buggin' Dave and Will to help me with a story for a website ... so the video was something that was done in the context of a "story"that was being told .. Anyway, all i can say is that i have been friends with dave and will and that entire crew down there for several years now .. and, they don't have to prove anything to me about their ability to fish and produce some amazing fly fishing films, i know how good they are. That's all .. just didn't want to leave a friend out to dry ... thanks.
