Asking a bartender what beers are on tap when the handles are right in front of you is the equivalent of saying, “I'm an idiot.”

While the boys from Big Sky Brewing were dropping of some suds at the Patagonia booth at last week's Outdoor Retailer show, we were stoked to learn that they are also Chum aficionados. As a result, Trout Slayer Ale now joins the ranks of "Official Beverages" of Moldy Chum. We also learned that Big Sky has plans to offer their tasty beverages in fisherman friendly, easy to pack in and out cans.

Idaho Joe Roope turned me on to the "Trout Slayers" a few months ago and I am with you on this one. Great brew

I think it tasted better when it was brewed down the road from Big Sky by Bayern Brewery before whoever owned the name Trout Slayer sold it to Big Sky. But, beer is beer and business is business so I will still drink it. :D

The big sky brewery is a must go for anyone visiting Missoula. In addition to trout slayer, they offer beers named Moose Drool, Scape Goat, Summer Honey, Powder Hound, etc...

Oh, and they give out 4 8 oz tasters for FREE!

The old Trout Slayer from Bayern Brewing is still available with exactly the same recipe under the brand Dancing Trout, which features a cool Monte Dolak pic that was posted a few weeks ago.
