Fall Run

"Fall Run" is the ultimate Pacific Northwest steelhead adventure.  This is the true story every angler dreams about retelling around the campfire forever.  Hooking and landing a steelhead on a fly is not easy.  It is arguably the most difficult type of fly fishing in the world.  Add the challenges of Mother Nature's moods, an unpredictable wild creature and one single, split-moment chance to capture it all on film........and you've got a recipe for a movie house flop.  But against all possible odds, luck lands on the right side for the filming of this high-action angling adventure.  Six years after filming Catch Magazine's premier issue T-Motion production, anglers Jeff Hickman and Jakob Lund meet up for another steelhead quest on camera with Todd Moen. Moen captures a film of fellowship and fish on unknown Pacific Northwest water in a truly spectacular story.  Yet the story of "Fall Run" depends on the most impressive of adventures ever known.  It belongs to the brave steelhead himself.  He makes his way, half-way across the world with predators on his tail, safely to swim up this tiny inland river where he meets, in a brief encounter, two ecstatic anglers and a very patient camera lens.  One spectacular adventure always leads to another...and this is it.

Hit'em Again Doc!

Nobody intended to make a sequel to Doc of the Drakes. It was a coincidence that Silver Creek Outfitters cameras even ended up on the water with Pete and Doc again this past summer. But the hyper-enthusiasm and sincere nature of SCO guide Pete Wood draws attention so easily. Equally engaging is Dr Robert Franklin, who at 85 had been on an incredible journey over the prior 6 months, persuading a panel of neurosurgeons to perform a rare brain stimulation procedure to treat debilitating symptoms he suffered from Parkinson's Disease.

Just 5 weeks since the surgery, Doc's condition had greatly improved. High in the mountains of central Idaho, cutthroat trout were carelessly sipping dry flies and Doc's fluke spat of missing hook-sets on Silver Creek was a distant memory. The camera follows along as two friends enjoy the most life has to offer, one incredible fish at a time.

See their story as part of the 2013 Fly Fishing Film Tour.
