Hi everyone, I'm Riley's father and a lot of you are correct. It is a "rainbow" trout. I had to take the photo with my blackberry and the quality is not the best. It measured in at 27 inches and I would guessimate that it would weigh around 8 pounds. I don't know who's prouder me or him. :)

I bet he's hooked for life, just like my father did with me. Way to go!!!

Fly fishing? Just curious. Good job little bro....

Looked closer and saw the fly rod in the lower left. Strong work father and son!!!!

curious as to why the fly rod matters? tired of this purists fly fishin b.s. 99.9% of kids in the U.S. started fishin plunkin bate, including most readers here. so ease up on the "what kind of rod were you fishin." Hell of a fish Riley!!!
