Ryan Adams befriended Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead after meeting him in New York in 2005. Adams performed with Lesh and Friends, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver and on New Year’s Eve 2005 at the Bill Graham Event Center in San Francisco.
